'Both my photography and paintings were inspired by graceful survival, so patience, resilience, hope, and life itself. They were produced during a period of homelessness and mental health struggles, and they're part of two memoirs I wrote that share my story more thoroughly (full story here); my first book being 'The Homeless Photographer: An album of self-reflection' that talks about how I was taking pretty pictures of my feelings in different states of mind, and the other book being a catalogue of my also pretty and colourful abstract paintings despite going through difficult time, all of which I made when I became a busker after selling my camera later, and that was what finally saved me in the end.'
